As far as replacement. i have heard multiple stories of insurance replacing a Rolex that was otherwise not available at an AD..seems that they can have an inside track at acquiring pieces and for MSRP.

Most of my watches are insured with Jewelers Mutual at market value. (e.g 116500LN @ 36K). You simply have to get the watch appraised, submit the appraisal and they will adjust the insured amount accordingly. My engagement ring and Rolex OP are with jeweler’s mutual but my fiance’s watches which have appreciated more than retail are insured through hodinkee since you can insure them for current value and future appreciation. We like Jewelers Mutual as the overall pick because of its history of insuring valuable pieces for decades. Not only do they insure watches, but they also insure jewelry, including loose.
